Ziwe's new book "Black Friend: Essays" will explore difficult questions surrounding society, race and identity and give readers more insight into Ziwe's experience growing up in America as a Black daughter of Nigerian immigrants. The book's title is an ode to Ziwe's talk show, where she's gone viral for asking her guests how many Black friends they have. The book also reflects on pop culture and touches on last year's incident where comedian Sam Jay was mistaken for Ziwe at a WNBA game.

Ziwe has taken the internet by storm with her Showtime late-night talk show "Ziwe," which first premiered in 2021. The show uses comedy and satire to tackle issues like race, class, politics and other societal issues through interviews and comical sketches. Ziwe has interviewed celebrities like Drew Barrymore, Emily Ratajkowski, Phoebe Bridgers and Wayne Brady and asked uncomfortable yet important questions to address taboo topics in American culture.
